About PSM Recordings

After years of sparring on both the East and West Coasts, the PSM crew has finally hooked up musically with Jamalski and Rocker-T. The result is the label's first 12" release entitled "Jah Everlasting" featuring Rocker-T, backed with "True Freedom Fighters" with Rocker and Jamalski. Recorded in September of 1996 and remixed in July 1997, this release is the first single off Positive Sound Massive's first compilation "Time's Up", released in stores October 15th, 1997.

Rocker-T. and Jamalski have enjoyed success over the past few years with releases and stage shows throughout the United States and abroad. Jamalski began his professional career with KRS-One in the early 1990's, scored a huge hit with Bobby Konders on his first solo 12" single, "Jump, Spread Out"; and released his first LP, "Roughneck Reality" on Columbia Records. Rocker-T. has also been very busy. He was one of the founding elements of New York's underground dancehall scene in the mid-eighties, performing throughout dancehalls with Maxi Priest, Terror Fabulous, Chaka Demus and Pliers, Sugar Minnot, and a host of others; during this time he also signed to Elektra Records with his band Skadanks. Both Rocker-T. and Jamalski tour constantly and PSM was grateful to record them on a mad dash down the West Coast last year.

Both of these tracks, like many of the tracks on the compilation, were produced by Stand Out Selector and edited by Jamie LeMoine. They were mixed in San Francisco at Glue Factory and were overseen with the spiritual guidance of Dan Nakamura (Automator). The riddims were conceived by Rocker-T. (Jah Everlasting) and DJ Jedi (True Freedom Fighters) and are as different as night and day. "Jah Everlasting" features Rocker's conscious sing-jay style on a wicked dancehall lick, while "True Freedom Fighters" carries a huge bass and drum sound with an infectious hip hop groove voiced by both Jamalski and Rocker-T. Both tracks feature the "edutainment" element that PSM has strived for over the past 6 years of operation and 10 releases to date.
